One Dead, Several Injured After Early Morning Shooting at Temperanceville Bar; Suspect in Custody
Accomack County, VA - A night out ended in tragedy early Sunday morning when gunfire erupted outside a bar on Virginia's Eastern Shore, leaving one person dead and several others injured. At approximately 1:41 a.m. on April 19, 2026, the Emergency Operations Center broadcast an active shooting at Par 4 Bar & Grill, located at 9480 Lankford Highway in Temperanceville, Accomack County, Virginia. Five adult males suffered gunshot wounds during the incident. A sixth male sustained a laceration to the face. When Emergency Medical Service personnel arrived on scene and stepped off their ambulance, a suspect opened fire in their direction. Fortunately, no EMS workers were injured. One male was pronounced dead at the scene. Another was treated and released for a gunshot wound to the arm. A third is currently receiving treatment for a gunshot wound to the back. One male was airlifted by Maryland State Police Aviation Command Trooper 4 to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, where he remained in surgery as of the latest update. Another male is being treated for a laceration to the face. Investigators identified the suspect as Skylor Dupree Crippen, also known as Skylor Dupree Harmon. Crippen had been treated at the scene for a gunshot wound to the foot before being taken into custody by Accomack County Sheriff's Deputies. Crippen now faces serious charges, including Second Degree Murder, two counts of Attempted Malicious Wounding of Emergency Medical Service Personnel, and two counts of Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony. He is currently being held at the Accomack County Jail with bail denied. The names of the other victims have not yet been released. Authorities say they are waiting until all families have been properly notified before sharing additional identifying information. The Accomack County Sheriff's Office and Virginia State Police are jointly investigating the incident.
