Delaware Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Enforcement Raid Townsend Farm
State of DE - A Townsend woman is facing a felony drug charge after state investigators raided a local farm and found large amounts of marijuana being grown and sold without a license.
The Delaware Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Enforcement arrested Mary Fischer-Solimeo following an investigation into illegal marijuana sales at Blackbird Creek Farm on Union Church Road in Townsend, Delaware.
On May 13, 2026, the Delaware Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Enforcement's Marijuana Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant at the property. Investigators had determined the farm was not licensed by the Office of the Marijuana Commissioner and was allegedly selling and growing marijuana outside of state law.
During the search, officers seized 60 pounds of marijuana and 32 marijuana plants from the location.
Fischer-Solimeo was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, a felony, and possession of marijuana over personal use quantity, a misdemeanor. She was arraigned and released on $10,100 bail.
Delaware law does allow the legal sale and cultivation of marijuana, but only under strict licensing requirements. The Delaware Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Enforcement says any individual or business operating outside of that framework is breaking the law.
The agency said it will continue to investigate and take action against unlicensed operations to protect public safety and the integrity of the state's regulated marijuana market.
