Arson Damages Vacant Home on Isabella Street
Salisbury, MD - A vacant home in Salisbury caught fire Saturday afternoon, and fire officials say it was set on purpose.
The Salisbury Fire Department responded to the 800 block of Isabella Street around 4:03 p.m. on July 11, 2026 for a reported structure fire. Crews arrived to find a one-story, wood-framed single-family home that had been sitting empty.
A passerby noticed the fire and called it in. Ten firefighters worked together to knock down the flames, and they had the fire under control in just five minutes.
No one was hurt in the fire, and since the home was already vacant, no one was displaced. The home did have a working smoke alarm, though it did not have a fire alarm or sprinkler system.
Fire officials say the blaze started on the front porch. Damage was fairly minor, with losses estimated at $500 to the structure and no damage to contents.
Investigators have ruled the fire incendiary, meaning it was intentionally set. No arrests have been made at this time.
