Cambridge, MD - A Cambridge man is behind bars after police say he pulled out a handgun and pointed it at a woman and her mother during a violent confrontation involving dozens of people.

On April 20, 2026, Cambridge Police Department officers arrested 21-year-old Malik Alexander Kenneth Wilcox of Cambridge, MD at approximately 1:49 p.m. on an active Dorchester County District Court arrest warrant. He was turned over to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections and is being held on no bond.

The charges against Wilcox are serious. He faces two counts each of First Degree Assault, Second Degree Assault, Firearm Use in a Felony Violent Crime, and Reckless Endangerment.

He is also charged with Stalking, Handgun on Person, and Loaded Handgun on Person.

The charges stem from an incident that took place on April 16, 2026, in the 500 block of Clinton Street in Cambridge, MD. Officers did not learn about the incident until April 17, when victims came to the Cambridge Police Department to report what happened.

According to police, a female subject came to the location to fight one of the victims. What followed quickly turned into a much larger situation. The victims reported being attacked by a group of 40 to 50 people.

During the chaos, Wilcox allegedly pushed the victims around and then pulled out a handgun. Police say he pointed the weapon directly at one of the victims and threatened to shoot her.

The situation became even more alarming when the victim's mother stepped in. She placed herself in front of her daughter to protect her, and Wilcox allegedly turned the gun on the mother.

According to the victims, Wilcox did not stop there. They reported that he continued making threats, telling them he would be back and that they were going to die. Victims also told police that Wilcox repeatedly drove past their home after the incident.

Cambridge Police applied for charges through the Court Commissioner, and an arrest warrant was issued. Wilcox was taken into custody four days after the reported incident.
