Cambridge Man Arrested After Dropping Crack Cocaine During Warrant Stop
Cambridge, MD - A routine patrol turned into a drug arrest in Cambridge, Maryland this week. Cambridge Police Department officers were patrolling the area of Pine St and Cross St around 6:20 p.m. on June 22, 2026. That's when they spotted someone they recognized as having active warrants. Officers made contact with the man on Cross St at Schoolhouse Lane. He was identified as 56-year-old Albert McLindsey Carter of Hurlock, MD. Carter was told he was under arrest for his outstanding warrants. That's when things took a turn. As officers moved to arrest him, Carter reached into his pocket and dropped a bag on the ground. Inside the bag was crack cocaine. Carter was taken into custody and a search turned up even more. Officers found a smoking device used for crack cocaine, along with suboxone. He was transported to Cambridge Police Department for processing. While there, Carter was issued multiple criminal citations for the drug-related charges. He was later released on a $500 unsecured bond tied to his bench warrants.
