Cambridge, MD - A Cambridge man is facing serious charges after police say he showed up at a woman's home following a Facebook argument, threatened to shoot her, and then took her baseball bat before knocking her to the ground.

Dequan Amir Jackson, 23, of Cambridge, Maryland, was arrested on April 27, 2026, after Cambridge Police Department officers conducted a traffic stop in the 400 block of Washington Street at approximately 12:25 p.m.

During the stop, officers identified Jackson as a passenger in the vehicle and discovered he had an active Dorchester County District Court arrest warrant.

Jackson was taken into custody without incident. He was later released on a $10,000 unsecured bond.

The charges against Jackson include robbery, assault in the second degree, and theft of less than $100. All three charges stem from an incident that took place one week earlier, on April 20, 2026.

According to police, officers responded to the 300 block of Crusader Road at approximately 2:45 p.m. that day for a report of a physical disturbance. When officers arrived, they spoke with the victim, who told them Jackson had come to her home after a dispute that started over a Facebook post he had made.

The victim told officers she had gone outside carrying a baseball bat to protect herself. That is when the situation turned dangerous.

Police say Jackson threatened to shoot the victim, then rushed toward her and grabbed the bat out of her hands. He then shoved her to the ground before leaving the area in a vehicle.

Officers filed for charges with the Court Commissioner following the investigation. The Commissioner approved the charges and issued an arrest warrant for Jackson, which is what led to his arrest one week later during the traffic stop on Washington Street.

As of now, Jackson has been charged but not convicted. Under the law, he is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
