Cambridge, MD - A Cambridge man is facing multiple charges after police say he broke into a home and a local business within the same afternoon, then gave officers a false name when he was arrested days later.

Daniel Isaih Rhock-White was taken into custody on the morning of May 4, 2026. He now faces charges connected to two separate burglaries that happened on May 1, 2026.

The first call came in at around 3:55 p.m. on May 1. Cambridge Police Department officers responded to the 300 block of Mill Street after a resident reported a burglary that had just taken place. A Stihl gas leaf blower had been stolen from the property.

The victim told officers they had watched the incident unfold on their Ring camera system. The footage showed a man walking around the property before going into a stairwell that leads to a storage area and basement. The man was then seen leaving the property on foot carrying the leaf blower.

Officers searched the area but were not able to find the suspect at that time.

About 35 minutes later, at approximately 4:30 p.m., officers responded to Simmons Center Market in the 600 block of Race Street. A theft had just occurred there, and the suspect's description matched the one from the Mill Street burglary.

According to employees, the suspect entered through a side entrance that is used only by staff. He then went into a storage area, took an electric saw, and left the area on foot down Cemetery Avenue. When employees were shown a photo from the Mill Street incident, they confirmed it was the same person.

On the morning of May 4, an off duty CPD officer spotted a man near the Cambridge Inn in the 2700 block of Ocean Gateway. The man matched the description and clothing of the suspect from the May 1 incidents.

On duty officers responded and located the man walking near Zaxby's on Ocean Gateway. He was carrying a home theatre sound bar at the time. When officers made contact, the man gave them an identification card with a different person's name on it.

He was placed under arrest and taken to the Cambridge Police Department for processing. During the investigation, officers determined his real identity was Daniel Isaih Rhock-White.
While being processed, Rhock-White told officers his abdomen was hurting because he had swallowed a quantity of heroin. Dorchester County EMS was called and he was transported to the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center in Easton.

After being released from the hospital on May 6, 2026, Rhock-White was transported back to CPD for processing and to be served with warrants.

Officers also found that Rhock-White had an active Caroline County District Court bench warrant for failure to appear in court on May 4, 2026. That warrant stems from an original charge of theft between $100 and under $1,500.

Rhock-White also had an active Talbot County Circuit Court Criminal Writ of Summons, which was served on him. He also had a Talbot County Circuit Court bench warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of second degree burglary, which is being held as a detainer at the detention center.

In connection with the two May 1 burglaries, Rhock-White was charged with the following:

  • Burglary #1 (Mill Street): Burglary 4th Degree and Theft $100 to Under $1,500.
  • Burglary #2 (Simmons Center Market): Burglary 2nd Degree General, Burglary 2nd Degree Storehouse, Theft $100 to Under $1,500, Fraud Identification to Avoid Prosecution, and Obstruct and Hindering.

Rhock-White was turned over to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections with no bond.
