Cambridge Man Arrested on Warrant During Traffic Stop
Talbot County, MD - A traffic stop near Trappe led to an arrest on July 9, 2026. Talbot County Sheriff's Office deputies pulled over a vehicle on Ocean Gateway. The stop set off a chain of events that ended with an arrest.
Deputies identified the driver as 35-year-old Khiry Drummond of Cambridge, Maryland. During the stop, deputies ran a routine records check on him. That check turned up an outstanding warrant.
The warrant came out of Dorchester County. Drummond had failed to appear for a scheduled court hearing there. That failure to appear led directly to his arrest on Ocean Gateway.
Deputies took Drummond into custody at the scene. He was transported to the Talbot County Central Booking facility for processing. This is standard procedure whenever someone is arrested on an active warrant.
At the booking facility, Drummond had an initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner. This step is required after every arrest. The commissioner reviews the case and decides on next steps.
Following that appearance, Drummond was held pending further action by the courts. His case will now move forward through the Dorchester County court system. Updates will follow as the case progresses.
Traffic stops like this one are a common way outstanding warrants get resolved. Routine record checks often uncover issues that aren't visible on the surface. This case is a reminder that a simple stop can lead to bigger legal consequences.
