Cambridge, MD - On Sunday, October 4, 2026, at approximately 5:40 p.m., officers with the Cambridge Police Department served a criminal summons on a Cambridge man, who was identified as Dajon Lamar Harris, 19, of Cambridge, Maryland. Harris is facing seven charges tied to a reckless driving case from last month.

The case goes back to Monday, September 7, 2026. At approximately 10:20 a.m., police were called to the 800 block of Chesapeake Drive in Cambridge, Maryland for a report of damaged property.

Police said a vehicle drove onto the property in a reckless and unsafe way. As the vehicle moved, stones were kicked up from the ground.

One of those stones hit a building and broke a window. Police did not say what kind of building it was or how much the damage cost to fix.

Based on the charges, police say the driver did not stop after the damage. Police also say the driver did not find the owner or leave their name and information.

Officers looked at video footage from the area. The video helped them find a vehicle that was involved, and that vehicle was registered to Harris.

Officers then identified Harris as the person driving that day. They applied for charges with a District Court Commissioner.

Harris is charged with Malicious Destruction of Property, Reckless Driving, and Negligent Driving. Harris is also charged with Driver Spinning Wheels.

The other three charges deal with leaving the scene. They are Failure of Vehicle Driver to Stop After Unattended Damage Accident and Failure of Vehicle Driver in Accident to Locate and Notify Owner of Unattended Damage.

The last charge is Failure of Vehicle Driver to Furnish Required Written Identity Info in Unattended Damage Accident. In Maryland, a driver who damages property must stop and let the owner know, even if no one is around.
