Cambridge, MD - On Monday, October 5, 2026, at approximately 5:05 p.m., officers with the Cambridge Police Department served a criminal summons on a Cambridge man.

The man was identified as Aaron Darnell Woolford, 26, of Cambridge, Maryland. Woolford is charged with giving police a false name and false information after a car crash at a local high school.

The case started about a month earlier. On Thursday, September 3, 2026, Cambridge police officers looked into a car crash at Cambridge South Dorchester High School, 2475 Cambridge Beltway, Cambridge, MD.

Police said the driver handed officers a driver's license that belonged to someone else. Police said the driver also told officers he was that person.

Nearly two weeks later, new information came in. On Wednesday, September 16, 2026, the person whose name had been used went to the Cambridge Police Department.

That person told officers they had never had any contact with Cambridge police. Officers kept working the case and found that the driver in the crash was Woolford.

Woolford now faces four charges. He is charged with False Statement to Officer and Knowingly Giving False Accident Report Information.

He is also charged with Failure of Individual Driving on Highway to Display License. The fourth charge is Vehicle Driver Giving False and Fictitious Name.
