Cambridge Resident Charged in ATM Card Theft Case
Cambridge, MD - On Sunday, October 4, 2026, at approximately 1:22 p.m., officers with the Cambridge Police Department served a criminal summons on a Cambridge resident.
The person was identified as Rachel Rock, 24, of Cambridge, Maryland. Rock is charged with two counts of Theft Less Than $100.
A criminal summons is a court order that tells a person they have been charged and must appear in court. It is used instead of an arrest in some cases.
The charges go back to an incident about a month earlier. It happened on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, in the 1000 block of Cosby Avenue in Cambridge, Maryland.
According to police, the victim reported that Rock used the victim's ATM card without permission. Police did not say where the card was used or how much money was taken.
Each of the two theft charges covers an amount of less than $100.
The victim went to a District Court Commissioner and applied for charges against Rock. A commissioner looks at the facts of a complaint and decides if charges should be filed.
That step led to the criminal summons served on October 4, 2026. Rock will now have to answer the charges in court.
