Cecil County Man Arrested Twice for Assault and Stalking
State of MD - A North East man is behind bars after Maryland State Police arrested him in connection with two separate assaults on women and an alarming months-long stalking case.
Edward Jackson Bunn, 53, of North East, Maryland, was first arrested on May 8, 2026, following a reported sexual assault involving a woman at an apartment building where Bunn was a new neighbor.
After an investigation by the Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division, Bunn was charged with fourth-degree sex offense, second-degree assault, false imprisonment, and other related charges.
He was held on a $25,000 bail and later released after posting bond.
On May 20, 2026, Bunn was arrested a second time, this time for a probation violation stemming from a prior conviction in Charles County, Maryland. He was released on his own recognizance two days later.
Investigators believe that just three days after his release, Bunn went to a residence in Perryville and attempted to force his way inside. That investigation revealed a much bigger problem.
Police say Bunn had allegedly been stalking a second woman since October 2025. The victim told police he had visited her workplace, her home, and stores where she shopped.
The woman, a long-distance runner, also reported that Bunn followed her multiple times in his blue Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck while she was out running. Police believe he repeatedly parked in areas to watch her and trailed her during her runs.
Following consultation with the Cecil County State's Attorney's Office, Bunn was charged with second-degree assault, stalking, harassment, attempted burglary, and other related charges covering incidents from October 2025 through May 2026.
Bunn was arrested without incident on June 10, 2026, and transported to the North East Barrack for processing. He is currently being held without bond at the Cecil County Detention Center.
