Delmar Commissioner Endorses Mayor Ben Jorden for County Council
Delmar, MD - Delmar Town Commissioner Jacob Boothe has publicly endorsed Mayor Ben Jorden for the Wicomico County District 5 Council seat. The general election is set for June 23, 2026.
Boothe, who serves as a commissioner for the Town of Delmar, says Jorden's record speaks for itself. "Even before Ben Jorden became Mayor of Delmar, he had already established himself as a dedicated leader within the community."
According to Boothe, Jorden has consistently shown strong leadership in his role as mayor. "His leadership has been second to none, and he has consistently demonstrated the ability to make difficult decisions with integrity and professionalism."
Under Jorden's time as mayor, the Town of Delmar has seen significant growth and progress. Boothe points to several accomplishments, including the rebuilding of the Police Department, improved wages and better health insurance benefits for town employees, and the implementation of a state pension program.
The town has also undergone major infrastructure improvements during Jorden's tenure. Projects include sewer and water upgrades, the construction of a new community center, and the Pennsylvania Avenue streetscape project.
Boothe also highlighted Jorden's commitment to first responders. The mayor has helped secure funding and continued support for the Delmar Fire Department.
