Delmar Man Arrested for DUI Drugs on Sussex Hwy
Delmar, DE - On August 6, 2026, the Delmar Police Department responded to Sussex Highway near Raceway Road in Delmar, Delaware, for a report of a driver under the influence of drugs.
Officers had received word of a silver Toyota Camry with Maryland tags that had just been in a minor collision. The car was still heading south on Sussex Highway toward Delmar.
Officers got a description of the car and located it a short time later. They saw the car failing to stay in its lane and initiated a traffic stop. Officers noticed signs of drug impairment in the driver.
The driver was identified as Rodney Dale Jr (32). Dale did not pass field sobriety testing and was placed under arrest.
A search of the vehicle turned up drug paraphernalia linked to recent drug use.
Dale agreed to a blood draw. He was later released to a sober party.
Dale faces charges of driving under the influence of drugs and failure to remain within a single lane.
