Wicomico County, MD - On October 8, 2026, at approximately 7:16 p.m., a Wicomico County Sheriff's deputy pulled over a blue Honda Civic near West Isabella Street and Claiborne Street in Salisbury, Maryland. The car was stopped for traffic violations.

The deputy spoke with the driver as part of the stop. The driver gave a name and a date of birth.

As the deputy looked into that information, it was found that the name and date of birth belonged to someone who had died.

The deputy kept working to find out who the driver really was. The driver was then identified as Travis Jerome Hollowell.

The deputy also found that Hollowell did not have a valid driver's license.

Hollowell was placed under arrest. The sheriff's office listed the case as an identity theft to avoid prosecution arrest.

Deputies took Hollowell to the Wicomico County Detention Center. He was later released.
