Easton, MD - An Easton man was taken into custody last month after police say he contacted a protected victim through text message, violating the terms of an active Protective Order.

On April 24, 2026, officers with the Easton Police Department arrested David Yeatman, 33, of Easton, Maryland, in connection with the alleged violation.

According to police, officers made contact with the victim, who reported receiving a text message from Yeatman. The victim said the contact was a direct violation of a Protective Order that was already in place.

Officers launched an investigation following that report. They located Yeatman at his residence and took him into custody without incident.

Yeatman was then transported to the Talbot County Detention Center. He later appeared before a District Court Commissioner. Following that appearance, Yeatman was released on his own personal recognizance.

No additional details about the nature of the Protective Order were released by police.

Protective Orders are legal documents issued by a court that restrict contact between individuals, often in domestic situations involving concerns for personal safety. Violating the terms of a Protective Order is a criminal offense in Maryland.

The Easton Police Department has not released any information about pending charges or a scheduled court date at this time.
