George Island Landing Boat Ramp Closes July 6, 2026 for Renovations
Worcester County, MD - Worcester County boaters, take note. The George Island Landing Road boat ramp on Rt. 366 in Stockton, Maryland will close beginning Monday, July 6, 2026, for a major rehabilitation project.
Crews will replace the boat ramp, bulkhead, and stone revetment at the site. The parking lot will also get a fresh overlay as part of the work.
The ramp will stay closed to the public for the entire length of the project. County officials haven't announced a specific reopening date yet.
If you're looking to get out on the water during the closure, you're not out of luck. The County is encouraging boaters to use the Taylors Landing boat ramp instead, which also provides access to Chincoteague Bay.
