Harbeson Man Arrested for DUI, Heroin, and Illegal Gun
State of DE - A Harbeson man is facing serious felony charges after Delaware State Police pulled him over Sunday night and found heroin, a handgun, and more inside his car.
It happened around 9:40 p.m. on May 31, 2026, on John J. Williams Highway near Robinsonville Road. A trooper spotted a Chevrolet Camaro speeding and swerving westbound and pulled it over.
The driver was identified as 43-year-old Michael Mock. Troopers say he showed multiple signs of impairment. After Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were administered, Mock was placed under arrest for driving under the influence.
Things escalated from there. During an inventory search of the Camaro, troopers uncovered approximately 169.83 grams of heroin - roughly 5,661 bags - along with a .40 caliber handgun, a large capacity magazine, ammunition, and drug paraphernalia.
A computer check also revealed that Mock had two prior DUI-related convictions, making this his third offense.
Mock was transported to Troop 7, where he was charged with a lengthy list of felonies. Those charges include possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a large capacity magazine, and third offense DUI, among others. He also faces two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and additional traffic offenses.
After being arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11, Mock was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $69,500 cash bond.
