Henderson Barn Fire Causes $50,000 in Damage
Caroline County, MD - A fire destroyed a barn in Caroline County on Wednesday afternoon. The blaze broke out in the 23000 block of Bridgetown Road in Henderson, Maryland around 12:47 p.m. A neighbor spotted the flames and called for assistance from the fire department.
The structure was a residential outbuilding used for farm storage. The Goldsboro Volunteer Fire Company responded to the fire with one alarm. Ten firefighters worked together to bring the fire under control.
Crews had the fire knocked down within 15 minutes. Sadly, five farm-raised ducks did not survive the fire. Investigators have not yet released the area of origin.
Fire officials estimate the total loss at $50,000. That figure, provided by the Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office, covers both the structure and everything inside it. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
