JCAT Drug Probe Leads to Drug Seizure in Wicomico County

Wicomico County, MD - On September 4, 2026, the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office Joint Community Action Team, known as JCAT, conducted a drug investigation. The investigation ended with a marijuana seizure and a criminal citation.

Detectives were watching the area when they saw what looked like a drug transaction. The exchange involved people inside a vehicle.

Road Patrol deputies helped detectives pull the vehicle over. Four people were inside at the time.

A K9 unit scanned the vehicle and gave a positive alert. Detectives then searched the vehicle.

Inside, they found a book bag holding 38 individually packaged bags of suspected raw marijuana. The bags weighed about 133 grams combined.

A cell phone belonging to Davion Douglas was also found inside the book bag. Detectives then searched Douglas and found $1,886 in cash on him.

The marijuana, the cash, the phone, and other items were all seized as evidence. They remain part of the ongoing investigation.

Davion Douglas was issued a criminal citation for Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana. He was released from the scene after the citation was issued.

The other three people in the vehicle were also released once the traffic stop was finished. JCAT conducted the investigation with help from Road Patrol deputies.
