MAC Kicks Off First Senior Fest in Salisbury Oct. 3, 2026
Salisbury, MD - Get ready for a brand new event on the Lower Shore. MAC is hosting its first ever Senior Fest on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at their location on 909 Progress Circle in Salisbury.
MAC is the non-profit agency that helps older adults across our area. This new event grows out of their yearly Soles for Seniors fundraiser and turns it into a free celebration for the whole family.
Visiting Angels is presenting the event this year. Everyone is welcome, including older adults, caregivers, families and neighbors of all ages.
The day starts off with the classic Soles for Seniors 1-Mile Walk at 9 a.m. Signing up for the walk costs $25 and comes with a Senior Fest T-shirt.
After the walk, there is plenty to stick around for. Guests can enjoy wellness screenings, helpful presentations, local resource tables and a line dancing demonstration in the gym.
There will also be food, refreshments and games throughout the day. Kids and adults alike can enjoy balloon animals and live music from AMP Studio Bands.
A few other highlights are planned too. Visitors can check out a virtual dementia demonstration and stop by the Teen Tech Table for hands-on tech help.
Giveaways are part of the fun as well. The first 100 attendees will get a gift bag, and home efficiency kits worth $50 each will be given out, one per household, while supplies last. There will also be drawings for other prizes throughout the event.
Nick Cranford, Community Relations and Development Manager at MAC, shared why this event matters. "Senior Fest is an opportunity to celebrate longevity while highlighting the many resources that help older adults remain healthy, independent and connected," he said. "We have something for everyone, so call the seniors in your life and show you care by inviting them to Senior Fest."
Admission to Senior Fest is free and open to everyone. Proceeds from the day will help support MAC programs that serve older adults across Dorchester, Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester counties.
Local businesses and organizations can also get involved through sponsorship opportunities. For more details on the walk, the festival or how to sponsor, visit www.macinc.org/senior-fest or call MAC at 410-742-0505.
