Major Drug Bust: 'Operation Melt Down' Leads to Multiple Arrests in Accomack County
Accomack County, VA - Sheriff W. Todd Wessells announced a series of significant drug seizures and arrests following ongoing investigations by the Accomack County Sheriff's Office Criminal Impact Unit. The law enforcement initiative, named "Operation Melt Down," launched in February 2026 to target methamphetamine distribution in the region.
During the initial phase of the operation, investigators identified Amanda Rae Daisy as a suspected drug supplier. Authorities conducted controlled purchases at her location, Scoops Ice Cream and Sandwich Shop on Market Street in Onancock.
By March 2026, investigators tracked Daisey's supply source to Chad Bangura Crockett Jr., also known as "Ocho," from Laurel, Delaware. Officers observed Crockett arrive at the Onancock ice cream shop to deliver illicit substances. He dropped off approximately 60 grams of packaged methamphetamine and 12 bundles containing individual folds of heroin and fentanyl.
Following this delivery, police executed a search warrant at Scoops Ice Cream and Sandwich Shop. The search yielded an additional 12 grams of packaged methamphetamine and a digital scale.
Authorities arrested Crockett on charges of trafficking and distributing methamphetamine, as well as distributing heroin. He is currently held without bond at the Accomack County Jail.
Daisey was also arrested and faces three counts of distribution of a Schedule I or II controlled substance and one count of possession with intent to distribute. She received a $5,000 unsecured bond from the Norfolk Magistrates Office.
In a separate enforcement action on March 28, 2026, the Criminal Impact Unit worked alongside Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) to conduct a traffic stop on a 2011 Dodge Journey. During the stop, a K-9 unit gave a positive alert for narcotics. Officers searched the vehicle and found a hidden compartment beneath the third-row seating.
Inside, they discovered 5.4 kilograms of packaged cocaine. Police arrested the driver, 49-year-old John Valentin of Bronx, New York. HSI took custody of Valentin and the seized narcotics for federal processing.
Finally, on April 1, 2026, authorities obtained an arrest warrant for Terique Denovis McCloud for possession with intent to distribute. This warrant was issued after the Virginia Department of Forensic Science confirmed that a substance seized during a January 2026 search was 55.81 grams of MDMA. Police arrested McCloud the same day, and he remains held at the Accomack County Jail.
