Man Gives Police a Fake Name Outside Cambridge Apartment Complex, Leading to Multiple Charges
Cambridge, MD - A late-night trespassing call at a Cambridge apartment complex turned into a more serious situation after officers discovered the man they were dealing with had given them a false name and had multiple warrants out for his arrest.
On Saturday, April 19, 2026, at around 10:50 p.m., Cambridge Police Department officers responded to the Bradford House in the 700 block of Race Street. The call was about a trespassing complaint.
When officers arrived, security staff directed them to a man in the parking lot. Officers approached the man and asked for his information, but he gave them a false name.
After further investigation, officers were able to identify the man as Nazzir Jarrell Johnson, 26, of Cambridge, Maryland. Once his real identity was confirmed, officers discovered he had multiple active warrants for his arrest.
Johnson was taken into custody and transported to the Cambridge Police Department for processing. He was later transferred to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections and is being held on No Bond.
Johnson faces a total of four charges stemming from the incident and his outstanding warrants.
The first two charges came directly from the encounter with officers that night. He was charged with Fraud Identity to Avoid Prosecution for giving a false name, and Obstruct and Hinder for interfering with the officers' investigation.
The third and fourth charges are connected to two separate warrants. The first warrant, issued by the Dorchester County District Court, includes charges of Failure to Register as a Sex Offender and Providing False Information related to sex offender registration. The second warrant, issued by the Dorchester County Circuit Court, is for Violation of Probation.
