Man Leads Deputies on Chase Before Being Arrested on Multiple Charges
Talbot County, MD - A man is facing several criminal charges after leading Talbot County deputies on a pursuit last week before stopping at a roadblock on the Eastern Shore.
On April 25, 2026, deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff's Office tried to pull over a vehicle on Longwoods Road near Airport Road. The stop was initiated because of a registration violation.
The driver did not stop. Instead, he continued at a slow speed with deputies following behind.
Deputies moved quickly to get ahead of the situation. They placed stop sticks at the intersection of Goldsborough Neck Road and Airport Road to bring the vehicle to a halt.
The pursuit did not last long. The driver stopped his vehicle before reaching the stop sticks after spotting additional deputies in the area.
Deputies approached the vehicle and identified the driver as Louisgens Raymond, 35, of Steelton, Pennsylvania.
Raymond was placed under arrest at the scene. He was charged with fleeing and eluding police, driving while intoxicated, possession of a controlled substance, and intoxicated endangerment.
Each charge carries its own weight. Fleeing and eluding is a serious offense on its own, but the additional charges involving alcohol, drugs, and public safety paint a fuller picture of what deputies encountered that evening.
After his arrest, Raymond was taken to the Talbot County Central Booking facility. He was processed and brought before a District Court Commissioner for an initial appearance.
Following that hearing, Raymond was held pending further action by the courts. No bond information was immediately available.
The Talbot County Sheriff's Office has not released any additional details about the type of controlled substance found or the specific circumstances surrounding the intoxication charges. Those details may come out as the case moves through the court system.
This incident took place on roads that many in the community travel daily. Longwoods Road and Airport Road are commonly used routes in the Talbot County area. Thankfully, no one was reported hurt during the incident.
