Milford Man Charged After Gunfire, Handgun Found in Car
Milford, DE - On August 30, 2026, at approximately 6:46 a.m., the Milford Police Department responded to the 900 block of North Church Street in Milford, Delaware. Officers were called for reports of a large party and shots being fired.
When officers arrived, they found a group of people gathered around a running vehicle. Two people were inside the car.
Officers noted that the driver was showing signs of alcohol impairment.
Further investigation revealed a Taurus 9mm handgun hidden inside the vehicle's center console.
Officers also found a spent shell casing on the ground nearby. This matched the earlier reports of gunfire in the area.
The driver was identified as Evens Amisal, 30, of Milford. Amisal resisted officers at first, but was taken into custody without further incident.
Amisal was charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon, reckless endangering in the first degree, resisting arrest, and driving under the influence.
He was arraigned through the Justice of the Peace Court. Amisal was committed to the Delaware Department of Correction in lieu of $17,100 secured bail.
A no-contact order was issued in the case. Amisal is scheduled to appear in court at a later date for a preliminary hearing.
