Millsboro Man Dies After Long Neck Road Crash
Sussex County, DE - On August 18, 2026, at approximately 11:50 a.m., Delaware State Police responded to Long Neck Road near Mallard Road for a two-vehicle crash. A Chrysler Pacifica was heading north on Long Neck Road. A Ford Explorer was stopped at the stop sign on Mallard Road, facing west.
Police say the Explorer failed to stay stopped and turned left into the Pacifica's path. The front of the Pacifica hit the driver's side of the Explorer.
The driver of the Explorer was 86-year-old William Wonchoba of Millsboro. He was taken to an area hospital and died from his injuries on August 23, 2026.
The driver of the Pacifica, a 69-year-old man from Millsboro, was also taken to an area hospital. His injuries are non-life-threatening.
The Delaware State Police Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit is still investigating the crash. Anyone with video footage or information is asked to contact Master Corporal J. Smith at (302) 703-3267.
