Princess Anne Traffic Stop Leads to Major Drug Bust
Somerset County, MD - On September 3, 2026, at approximately 10:30 p.m., officers with the Princess Anne Police Department conducted a traffic stop on Somerset Avenue, near Broad Street. The stop happened after officers observed a moving infraction on the vehicle.
During the stop, officers developed probable cause to search the vehicle. That search turned up a large amount of suspected drugs.
Police say they found approximately 484 grams of suspected marijuana. They also found around 100 individually packaged bags of suspected heroin.
Officers also recovered suspected cocaine and approximately 45 strips of suspected Suboxone. A digital scale, unidentified pills, and $546 in U.S. currency were also seized.
Shaquan Maddox, 21, of Princess Anne, was arrested in connection with the case. He was charged in relation to the recovered suspected controlled dangerous substances.
Maddox was presented to a District Court Commissioner. He was held without bond.
