Queenstown, MD - A Queenstown woman is headed to prison after pleading guilty to a drug charge. She will serve three years and then spend three more years on supervised probation.

Hope Saunders, of Queenstown, MD, was sentenced on October 15, 2026. She had pleaded guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine.

Her three-year sentence will be served in the Division of Corrections. Once she is released, she will be placed on 3 years of supervised probation.

The case started with an investigation by the Queen Anne's County Drug Task Force. That work led investigators to get a search and seizure warrant for Saunders' home in Queenstown.

When investigators searched the home, they found cocaine and packaging material. They also found US Currency and a digital scale with cocaine residue on it. Investigators said the amount of cocaine, along with the scale and the cash, showed an intent to distribute the drug.

Investigators also took a cellphone that belonged to Saunders. They pulled information from the phone and found a series of text messages between Saunders and several other people.

Those messages confirmed that drugs were being distributed. The phone evidence helped build the case against her.

Deputy State's Attorney Christine Rickard and Assistant State's Attorney Jessica Davidson prosecuted the case.
