Easton, MD - A Salisbury man is facing multiple traffic charges after a December crash in Easton left two people injured and required transport to one of the region's busiest trauma centers.

On April 23, 2026, officers with the Easton Police Department served a criminal summons on Bushra M. Ibrahim, 73, of Salisbury, Maryland. Ibrahim was charged with reckless and negligent driving, driving in excess of a reasonable and prudent speed, failure to avoid a collision, and driving at speeds exceeding the posted limit.

The charges stem from a crash that happened more than four months earlier.

On December 3, 2025, Easton Police officers were called to the intersection of Ocean Gateway and Chapel Road for a reported motor vehicle collision. When they arrived, two people were already receiving treatment for injuries. They were Ibrahim and the driver of a Town of Easton vehicle.

Maryland State Police Aviation Command Trooper 6 transported both Ibrahim and the other driver to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, Maryland.

Investigators, working alongside the Maryland State Police Crash Team, pieced together what happened. They determined that Ibrahim lost control of his vehicle and struck a Town of Easton vehicle that was stopped in the westbound left turn lane of Ocean Gateway.

The force of that impact caused the Town of Easton vehicle to hit a second vehicle that was also waiting in the turn lane ahead of it.

Ibrahim's vehicle came to rest in a field at the intersection of Chapel Road and Ocean Gateway.

The investigation took several months before charges were formally filed. The involvement of the Maryland State Police Crash Team, a unit that specializes in reconstructing serious accidents, points to the level of detail required to build the case.

No information has been released about the condition of either driver following their hospital stay, or about the occupants of the second vehicle that was struck.

Ibrahim is scheduled to answer to the charges through the court process.
