Wicomico County, MD - A Salisbury man will spend the rest of his life behind bars after a Wicomico County judge handed down a 105 year prison sentence for the repeated sexual abuse of a child under 10 years old.

Jacob Price, 38, was sentenced on May 22, 2026, by Circuit Court Judge Matthew A. Maciarello. Price had pleaded guilty on April 2, 2026, to sexual abuse of a minor and four counts of rape in the second degree.

The abuse took place between August and October of 2025. Price was in a position of care over the child at the time of the offenses.

If Price is ever released from prison, he will face lifetime supervision as a sex offender and must register as a Tier III sexual offender for the rest of his life.

Wicomico County State's Attorney Jamie L. Dykes addressed the case in a statement after sentencing. "Children who are sexually abused suffer severe, and often life-long consequences. The young survivor in this case displayed immense courage and strength in disclosing the sexual abuse."

Dykes went on to thank those who worked the case. "I thank the multi-disciplinary team of the Wicomico County Child Advocacy Center for their exceptional response and investigation in this case. The Court's powerful sentence in this case sends an unmistakable message that when minors are harmed in Wicomico County, perpetrators will be held accountable and pay a heavy price."

State's Attorney Dykes recognized Detective G. Wells of the Salisbury Police Department, who served as the lead investigator on the case. Members of the Wicomico County Child Advocacy Center were also recognized for their role in the investigation.

Senior Assistant State's Attorney Michael Calabrese prosecuted the case and was also credited by Dykes for his work in seeking justice for the child victim.

The Wicomico County Child Advocacy Center is a local organization that brings together law enforcement, child protective services, and other professionals to respond to and investigate cases of child abuse.
