Seaford Home Invasion Leads to Shots Fired, Arrest

Seaford, DE - On August 23, 2026, at approximately 11:02 a.m., officers from the Seaford Police Department and Delaware State Police responded to the 500 block of Arbutus Ave for a report of shots fired.

When officers arrived, they found several people in the yard of the residence involved. Those individuals were detained while investigators worked to figure out what happened.

Investigators determined that two unknown Black men had entered the home and held the residents at gunpoint. The suspects located and stole several handguns from inside the house.

They then walked one of the residents out the back door at gunpoint, searching for more property near a nearby vehicle.

While this was happening, another resident climbed out a window. That resident sent a message to the owner of the guns, letting him know the home was being robbed.

The owner of the firearms, identified as Guyvenson X, was on his way back to the residence at the time. He walked in the front door just as the suspects were leaving out the back. He went to his room and realized his handguns were gone.

X then grabbed a rifle and saw the suspects holding one of the residents at gunpoint outside. He ran outside, and the two suspects ran off when they saw him. X told officers he fired a warning shot.

One of the fleeing suspects appears to have fired back. Investigators confirmed that X had legally purchased his firearms and had a valid permit to carry. However, a nearby house was struck by a round believed to have come from X's gun.

Guyvenson X was arrested and charged with Discharge Firearm at a Dwelling, a Felony E charge. He was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court and released on $6,000 unsecured bail.
