Seaford Man Charged in Domestic Assault, Spits on Officers
Seaford, DE - On August 22, 2026, at approximately 8:31 p.m., Seaford Police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of E Poplar St for a domestic disturbance.
Officers made contact with a juvenile and a witness at the scene. The witness said David Galindez was drunk and had assaulted the juvenile, who is his child.
Officers found Galindez nearby a short time later. He tried to run when officers approached him, leading to a brief foot chase.
An officer warned Galindez he would be tased if he did not stop. He then surrendered to officers.
Once in custody, Galindez refused to walk to the patrol vehicle. He began screaming obscenities and spit in the face of an officer.
Officers used pepper spray on Galindez before placing him in the patrol vehicle. Once at the police department, he tried to spit in the face of another officer.
Galindez was taken to the ground and pepper sprayed a second time. Officers said he showed several signs of intoxication throughout the incident.
Galindez was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, offensive touching of another with saliva on two counts, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief less than $1,000, and offensive touching.
All charges are misdemeanors.
He was committed by the Justice of the Peace Court to the Delaware Department of Corrections on an intoxication hold.
