Talbot County, MD - A Talbot County man with a prior child pornography conviction is back behind bars, this time, caught by the very monitoring system put in place to keep the community safe.

The Talbot County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division arrested Thomas W. Nash III, 33, of Easton, Maryland, on June 8, 2026. He faces 16 counts of Accessing and Viewing Child Pornography.

Nash was convicted in Dorchester County in August 2023 for possessing child pornography and sentenced to five years in a state correctional facility. He was paroled in March 2026 after serving about 30 months.

Upon his release, Nash was required to register as a sex offender with the Talbot County Sheriff's Office. As a condition of his parole, he also agreed to have his internet activity electronically monitored.

That monitoring is what led investigators straight to him.

In May 2026, a Maryland Division of Parole and Probation agent alerted the Talbot County Sheriff's Office that Nash appeared to be accessing and viewing child pornography again. Investigators looked into the tip and obtained an arrest warrant.

Nash was taken into custody at the Talbot County Sheriff's Office on June 8, 2026, without incident. He was transported to the Talbot County Central Booking facility for processing and an initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner.

Nash was held without bond. A bond review before a District Court Judge was scheduled for June 9, 2026.

The investigation was a team effort. The Talbot County Patrol Division, the Talbot County Drug Task Force, and the Maryland Division of Parole and Probation all assisted in the case.
