Queen Anne's County, MD - A Stevensville man is facing multiple charges after Asset Protection says he shoplifted from the same Target store a dozen times over the past year.

On June 29, 2026, at approximately 2:55 PM, Deputy Porter was dispatched to the Stevensville Target for a report of a theft that had just occurred. When he arrived, he made contact with Asset Protection and the suspect, Stephen Aquilino.

Asset Protection told Deputy Porter that Aquilino had skipped paying for an item while using self-checkout. He then passed all points of sale without paying.

Deputy Porter reviewed surveillance footage from the store. The footage matched the account given by the employee.

Store staff also told Deputy Porter that Aquilino had stolen from the same Target 11 other times. Those thefts date back to July of 2025. Staff provided documentation for each prior incident.

Aquilino was placed under arrest and charged accordingly. He now faces a total of 12 theft-related charges.

Charges & Citations:
-Theft Less Than $100 (x11)
-Theft Scheme $100 to under $1,500

This case is a reminder that retail theft doesn't go unnoticed. Asset Protection teams keep detailed records, and repeat incidents can add up to serious charges over time.

Deputy Porter's report shows how surveillance footage and store documentation can work together to build a case. It's a good example of local law enforcement and local businesses working as a team.
