Ocean City, MD - A high-speed chase through Ocean City ended with three arrests early Saturday morning after officers from multiple agencies tracked down the occupants of a stolen vehicle across Worcester County, Maryland.

The incident began around 1:15 a.m. on May 30, 2026, when Ocean City Police Department officers tried to stop a speeding vehicle on Baltimore Avenue. The car was moving too fast for a safe stop, so officers immediately broadcast a description to nearby agencies.

A second attempt was made on Philadelphia Avenue near 31st Street. The driver refused to stop again and took off at a high-rate of speed, running multiple red lights as the vehicle headed north on Coastal Highway. Officers did not pursue the vehicle.

Instead, officers deployed stop sticks at the intersection of Coastal Highway and Route 90. The tires were punctured, but the driver kept going, crossing the Route 90 bridge heading west toward the mainland.

Worcester County Sheriff's Office deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver continued fleeing and committing traffic violations. The car finally stopped near Worcester Highway in Showell, Maryland. All three occupants jumped out and ran into nearby woods.

A large search operation followed, involving the Worcester County Sheriff's Office, Ocean City Police Department, Berlin Police Department, Maryland State Police Berlin Barrack, and the Maryland State Police Aviation Command, Trooper 4. Deputies locked down a perimeter while additional resources arrived.

Officers found the driver, Edward Ray Reedy Jr., hiding on a property along Worcester Highway. Ocean City K-9 teams, including K-9 Mackenzie and K-9 Finn, tracked through the area and led officers to a second suspect. Qristian Gavin Durant, 19, of Dover, Delaware, was found hiding under a rear deck at a nearby property.

Investigators later confirmed the vehicle had been stolen from its owner's residence in Dover, Delaware, on the evening of May 29, 2026.

Around 6:30 a.m., deputies located the third suspect, a 17-year-old juvenile from Dover, Delaware, near where the vehicle had stopped. The juvenile was taken into custody and transported to the Lower Eastern Shore Children's Center pending extradition proceedings. The juvenile also had an outstanding warrant from the Kemper County Sheriff's Office in Mississippi for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon connected to an April 27, 2026, shooting incident.

Reedy and Durant, both 19 and from Dover, Delaware, were each charged with theft of $1,500 to under $25,000 and obstructing and hindering. Reedy also faced multiple traffic-related charges.

Durant was held on a $20,000 bond. Reedy was held without bond. All three were also charged with theft related to the stolen vehicle.
