Talbot County, MD - Three men are behind bars after an undercover operation targeting online child predators led to their arrests in the Easton area. The Talbot County Sheriff's Office announced the arrests following a multi-agency operation that began the week of April 12, 2026.

The operation was led by the Talbot County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division. It was carried out in collaboration with the FBI Baltimore Field Office's Maryland Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force, the Easton Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division, and the Talbot County State's Attorney's Office.

Undercover officers posed as minor children on online platforms to identify individuals who were sexually exploiting kids. Each of the three men arrested engaged in sexually explicit communications with the undercover officers, even after being told they were speaking with minors.

All three men continued making plans to meet the minors for sexual activity. They were each arrested when they showed up at the agreed-upon meeting location in the Easton area.

The three individuals arrested and charged with one count of Sexual Solicitation of a Minor are:

  • Jason M. Towers, 44, of Denton, Maryland
  • Selvin R. Miranda-Miranda, 27, of Chester, Maryland
  • Andrew C. Jenkins, 26, of Berlin, Maryland

All three were transported to the Talbot County Detention Center and made an initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner. All three were initially held without bond.

Following bond review hearings before a District Court judge, Towers and Miranda-Miranda were ordered to remain held without bond. Jenkins was released on a $25,000 unsecured bond.

The Talbot County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division received additional support during the operation from the Easton Police Department's Critical Response Unit and members of the Talbot County Drug Task Force.

Law enforcement is using this moment to send a message to parents in the community. They are urging parents to talk with their children about the dangers of communicating with strangers online.

Parents are also encouraged to regularly check their children's activity on social media apps and other online platforms. Taking an active role in monitoring what children do online can help protect them from becoming victims of predators.

Officials made clear that this operation is part of a broader effort in the region. "This operation was conducted as part of the ongoing efforts to reduce violent crime and protect children in our community," the Sheriff's Office stated.
