Talbot County, MD - A 59-year-old Trappe man is facing serious criminal charges after allegedly threatening to set fire to a residential property following a dispute with its owner.

On April 14, 2026, deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff's Office arrested Robert Samuel Trower of Trappe, Maryland. The arrest came after deputies received a complaint that Trower had threatened to burn a residence located in the 30000 block of Bruceville Road.

According to authorities, the threat was made following an argument between Trower and the property owner. Deputies responded and took Trower into custody at the scene.

Trower was transported to the Talbot County Central Booking facility for processing. He was then brought before a District Court Commissioner for an initial appearance.

Authorities charged Trower with four offenses: threat of arson, reckless endangerment, intoxicated endangerment, and harassment. The charges reflect both the nature of the alleged threat and the conditions under which it was reportedly made.

Trower was held at the facility pending further action by the courts. No bond information was immediately made available.

Arson threats are taken seriously under Maryland law, even when no fire is actually set. A threat alone can carry significant legal consequences, particularly when it involves another person's home and is made in a threatening or dangerous manner.
