Two Crisfield Men Arrested on Drug and Firearm Charges
Crisfield, MD - Two Somerset County men are facing serious charges after the Somerset County Narcotics Task Force served a search warrant at a Crisfield residence on May 27, 2026.
Jayson Philip Tawes and Gregory Allen Cain Jr. were both taken into custody during the operation. Investigators say the two men were found with controlled dangerous substances, firearms, and ammunition. Both were brought before a Maryland District Court Commissioner following their arrests.
The task force said the operation was part of a broader effort to crack down on illegal drug distribution across Somerset County. The search warrant was executed at a Crisfield address, though the exact location was not disclosed in the release.
Tawes faces charges that include possession with intent to distribute narcotics, possession of a firearm while disqualified, and illegal possession of a regulated firearm. Cain faces related criminal charges as well.
The Somerset County Narcotics Task Force is a joint effort involving the Maryland State Police, the Somerset County Sheriff's Office, Maryland Natural Resources Police, and the Somerset County State's Attorney's Office.
Several agencies provided assistance during the investigation and arrest. Those include the Crisfield Police Department, the Worcester County Sheriff's Office Criminal Enforcement Team, and the MSP Princess Anne Barrack.
The task force credited concerned citizens of Somerset County for helping make the arrest possible. Residents are encouraged to report suspicious activity to local law enforcement.
