Easton, MD - A man was bound with a lamp cord and robbed at gunpoint inside his own home. Now, nearly two months later, the two men accused of doing it are in custody and it took law enforcement agencies across multiple states to make it happen.

On February 11, 2026, Easton Police officers responded after a man reported a terrifying ordeal at his residence in the 28000 block of Outram Street in Easton, Maryland. He told officers he was asleep when two masked men armed with firearms forced their way in and woke him up.

The victim said one of the suspects ordered him to the ground. He complied. The suspects then tied him up using the cord from a desk lamp and the strings from a drawstring backpack before taking his electronics and jewelry.

Once the suspects left, the victim managed to free himself and get help.

Detectives were assigned to investigate and were able to track a vehicle they believed the suspects used. That vehicle came from the western shore of Maryland. Through a thorough investigation, detectives were able to connect two men to the crime.

On April 7, 2026, the Easton Police Department arrested Fraine A. Rosendiz Vasquez, 29, of Hyattsville, Maryland, and Yhonayker J. Torres Ascanio, 21, of Silver Spring, Maryland, on arrest warrants.

The two men are charged with Home Invasion, Burglary 1st Degree, Armed Robbery, Firearm Use in a Violent Crime, Theft, Assault 1st Degree, and Reckless Endangerment.

Rosendiz was taken into custody at his Hyattsville residence with help from the Prince George's County Police Department Special Assignment Team and Emergency Service Team. He was taken in without incident and later transferred to the Talbot County Detention Center.

That same day, detectives also executed a search and seizure warrant at a location in the 1900 block of West Lanvale Street in Baltimore, with assistance from the Baltimore City Police Department SWAT. A third warrant was carried out at a Silver Spring residence, with help from the Montgomery County Police Department. Evidence recovered at these locations connected both men to the February robbery.

Torres, however, was not in Maryland. He was on the run.

On April 16, 2026, members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force located Torres hiding inside a residence in Marion, Ohio. He was arrested and is currently awaiting extradition back to Maryland.

The Easton Police Department thanked several agencies for their help in bringing this case to a close, including the Anne Arundel County Police Department, Prince George's County Police Department Special Assignment Team and Emergency Service Team, Baltimore City Police Department SWAT, Montgomery County Police Department, U.S. Marshals Capital Regional Fugitive Task Force, and the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force.

This case is a reminder that local crimes can have far-reaching consequences and that law enforcement agencies across state lines are willing to work together to find answers for victims right here in our community.
