Unidentified Body Recovered from Williams Pond in Seaford
Seaford, DE - On Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at approximately 11:16 a.m., kayakers discovered an unidentified deceased individual in the water at Williams Pond. The Seaford Police Department is currently investigating the recovery of the body.
Seaford Police, Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) officers, Station 87 EMS, and the local fire department responded to the scene and confirmed the presence of the deceased individual. The body was subsequently turned over to the Delaware Division of Forensic Science for a formal examination to determine the exact cause and manner of death.
Due to the incident's proximity to Frederick Douglass Elementary School, specific measures were taken by responding officials to ensure the scene remained obscured from the view of children. Authorities have stated that there is no known threat to the public at this time. However, this remains an active and ongoing investigation.
