Vehicle Pursuit Ends at Seaford Police Department

Seaford, DE - On August 27, 2026 at approximately 7 p.m., the Harrington Police Department began a vehicle pursuit that traveled south on Sussex Highway into the City of Seaford. Officers used spike strips on the vehicle during the pursuit.

The driver then headed toward Virginia Avenue. A citizens' police academy was in progress nearby at the time, with several members out on ride alongs with officers.

To everyone's surprise, the vehicle pulled into the parking lot of the Seaford Police Department before coming to a stop. The driver was taken into custody by Harrington Police without further incident.

The citizens' academy members on ride alongs got to see part of the pursuit unfold up close. Seaford Police say residents interested in joining should keep an eye out for next year's citizens' academy application.
