Warrants Issued After Rehoboth Beach Takeover Event
Rehoboth Beach, DE - Four people are now wanted by police after a large unauthorized event disrupted Rehoboth Beach on the evening of May 19, 2026.
The event was advertised as a "Takeover" and drew a growing crowd to the beach and boardwalk. Officers had very minimal advance notice but were able to increase their presence early in the evening.
As the crowd grew, law enforcement from across the area was called in to help.
Responding agencies included the Delaware State Police, the Department of Natural Resources, Dewey Beach Police, Milford Police, Lewes Police, and Bethany Beach Police. Their response came amid growing concerns about the safety of people and property in the area.
Several businesses chose to close early as a result of the event. A number of arrests were made that evening connected directly to the gathering.
Charges included Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest, Underage Consumption of Alcohol, and Marijuana Use in a Public Space.
This was the fifth event of this type since April of this year. The Rehoboth Beach Police Department says the same promoters have organized similar events in Rehoboth Beach before.
Warrants have now been obtained for four of the promoters. Police say all four are students at Delaware State University and are still being sought.
The following individuals are wanted:
- Xander Nicholl, 19, of Philadelphia, PA
- Angelin A. Clauvil, 21, of Milford, DE
- Keyon D. Scott, 22, of Dover, DE
- Eric Barnett, 21, of Saint Albans, NY
All four are charged with Intent to Commit or Facilitate a Riot, a felony, and Conspiracy in the Second Degree, also a felony.
None of them have been taken into custody at this time.
Police say there is no known danger to the public at this time. They say they will continue to monitor future events and take whatever action is needed to protect residents, visitors, business owners, and their property.
The Rehoboth Beach Police Department stated they are committed to keeping the peace so that everyone can enjoy everything the city has to offer.
