Wicomico County Alcohol Compliance Check Results: 4 Businesses Face Hearing
Wicomico County, MD - The Wicomico County Alcohol Task Force conducted a routine compliance check on May 21, 2026, visiting 15 licensed alcohol retailers across the county. Four of those businesses did not pass.
The task force is made up of four agencies working together. Those agencies are the Wicomico County Liquor License Department, the Maryland State Police, the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office, and the Salisbury Police Department.
Of the 15 establishments checked, 11 passed without issue. Those businesses were Food Lion at 232 Tilghman Road in Salisbury, Willards Dash-in at 7201 Main Street in Willards, Chesapeake Beer & Wine at 36308 Old Ocean City Road in Willards, Beverage Barn at 1120 East Church Street in Salisbury, Express Mart at 615 North Salisbury Blvd. in Salisbury, Country Farm at 821 Priscilla Street in Salisbury, Country Farm Store at 104 East Gordy Road in Salisbury, Delmar Tiger Mart at 8600 Ocean Highway in Delmar, Plaza Tapatia South at 1502 South Salisbury Blvd. in Salisbury, Shore Stop at 1020 Eastern Shore Drive in Salisbury, and Royal Farm #283 at 1033 South Salisbury Blvd. in Salisbury.
The four businesses that did not pass now face possible action. The Board of License Commissioners may order each of them to appear before the board for a hearing on an alleged sale of alcohol to someone under 21 years of age.
Those four businesses are Corner Market at 1 Bi-State Blvd. in Delmar, Thirsty's at 9534 Ocean Highway in Delmar, Island Bistro at 900 North Salisbury Blvd. in Salisbury, and Red Fox at 107 South Fruitland Blvd. in Fruitland.
In addition to the hearing, the clerks who allegedly sold the alcohol could face criminal charges filed by officers of the task force.
These compliance checks are part of an ongoing effort to make sure local businesses are following Maryland's alcohol laws and not selling to minors. Results from this type of check are made available to the public so residents know which businesses are following the rules.
