Woman Charged After Road Rage Pepper Spray Attack
State of DE - On Monday, July 20, 2026, at approximately 3:44 p.m., New Castle County Police responded to the 3000 block of New Castle Avenue for a reported road rage incident.
The victim told officers a Honda Accord nearly hit their Ford Explorer in a parking lot. The driver, later identified as 25 year old Sharon Damiani of Newark, Delaware, then used her Honda to block the victim's Explorer into a parking space.
The victim tried to back out. Because the Explorer was blocked in, it struck Damiani's Honda.
Damiani got out of her car and a verbal argument followed. During the argument, Damiani sprayed the victim with pepper spray.
Damiani got back in her Honda. She then pulled forward and reversed into the victim's Explorer, causing damage on purpose before leaving the scene.
On Wednesday, August 19, 2026, detectives found Damiani in Wilmington, Delaware. She was taken into custody without incident and brought to New Castle County Police Headquarters.
Damiani was arraigned on one felony count of Assault Second Degree. She also faces misdemeanor counts of Unlawful Imprisonment Second Degree, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, and Malicious Mischief by a Motor Vehicle.
She was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on $11,200 unsecured bail.
