Family Loses Everything in Preston House Fire - Here's How You Can Help
A family in Preston, Maryland is starting over from nothing after a fire destroyed their home Wednesday afternoon.
The fire broke out at approximately 4:58 p.m. on April 22, 2026, in the 4800 block of Birch Drive in Caroline County. When emergency crews arrived, the one-story home was fully engulfed in flames.

While investigators work to find answers, this family needs our help.
A family friend reached out to let us know what they are in need of. We know this community shows up for people, and we are asking you to show up for this family.
Here is what they need:
- For the woman: Clothing in size XL-2X
- For the child (boy): Clothing in size 4T/5T or size 5, size 7 Pull-Ups, and size S/M Overnight Pull-Ups
- For the man: Pants in size 32/34 and shirts in size L
- For the dog: Any kind of dog food
This family lost nearly everything in a matter of minutes. A little help from a lot of people can make a big difference as they try to rebuild.
