105th Delaware State Police Recruit Class and 101st Municipal Police Class Graduation

State of DE - Colonel William D. Crotty, Superintendent of the Delaware State Police, has announced the graduation of the 105th Delaware State Police and 101st Municipal Police Recruit Class. The ceremony took place on February 19, 2026, at Dover Middle School, marking a significant milestone for 29 new law enforcement officers.

The graduating class included 20 Delaware State Troopers and 9 Municipal Police Officers. The municipal officers represent the Delaware Natural Resources Police, Georgetown Police Department, Middletown Police Department, and Millsboro Police Department.

These individuals have completed their training at the Delaware State Police Training Academy and are now prepared to begin their careers in public service.

The graduation program featured remarks from several distinguished speakers. Governor Matthew Meyer, State Prosecutor Dan Logan from the Delaware Department of Justice, and Secretary Joshua A. Bushweller from the Department of Safety and Homeland Security each addressed the class. Colonel William D. Crotty also delivered a message to the graduates.

Trooper Gabriel Hayes, selected by his classmates, spoke on behalf of the graduating class.

Several recruits received awards for exceptional performance during their training. Trooper David Hernandez earned the Delaware State Police Academy Physical Fitness Award. Trooper Maximillian Schwetje and Patrolman Keishawn Mansfield from the Georgetown Police Department both received the Outstanding Proficiency in Police Firearms Award. Patrolman Horace Rose of the Georgetown Police Department was honored with the Delaware State Police Academy Core Value Award.

Additional awards were presented to recognize outstanding achievement. Trooper Maximillian Schwetje received the Secretary of Safety and Homeland Security Award. Patrolman Autumn Potter from the Millsboro Police Department earned the Attorney General's Award for Legal Excellence. Officer Eric Johnson of the Middletown Police Department received the Delaware Association of Chiefs of Police Award. Trooper Gabriel Hayes was honored with the Governor's Outstanding Recruit Trooper Award.

The 105th Delaware State Police Recruit Class includes Troopers Damian Alexander, Justin Altemus, Gavin Burton, Shawn Church, Jonathan Crist, Gracie Frech, Nicolas Gaspich, Miller Gladding, Gabriel Hayes, Raymond Hearns, David Hernandez, Jacob Hudson, Strovenscolv Larochelle, Macy Layfield, Courtney McCloskey, Brendan McKewen, Carlton North, Tyler Sareyka, Maximillian Schwetje, and Brock Vincent.

The 101st Municipal Police Recruit Class consists of Officer Spencer Failing and Officer Gabriel Martin from the Delaware Natural Resources Police, Patrolmen Alec Barr, Keishawn Mansfield, Dominick Redshaw, and Horace Rose from the Georgetown Police Department, Officers Eric Johnson and Yordi Ventura from the Middletown Police Department, and Patrolman Autumn Potter from the Millsboro Police Department.
