13-YEAR OLD ARRESTED AT MILFORD CENTRAL ACADEMY FOR BEING IN POSSESSION OF A FIREARM

Milford, DE - On June 2, 2025, a member of the admin of Milford Central Academy was informed by a student about a photograph that featured a 13-year-old male student, who appeared to be in possession of a firearm.

School officials promptly reached out to the student in question, leading to a investigation. It was discovered that the individual had an unloaded handgun on him.

The School Resource Officer responded, secured the firearm and safely detained the student. During the investigation, it was confirmed that the student did not have any ammunition with him.

The charges filed against the student included:

• Possession, Purchase, Own or Control a Deadly Weapon Persons under 18 (Felony)
• Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon a Firearm (Felony)
• Terroristic Threating
• Possession of a Weapon in a Safe Recreation Zone

Following the required legal procedures, the student was released into the custody of a parent and is awaiting a court appearance scheduled in the Family Court.
