14-Year-Old Male Charged with Theft of Handgun from Vehicle

GREENSBORO, MD - A 14-year-old male from Marydel, MD, has been charged in connection with the theft of a handgun from a vehicle in Greensboro, Maryland. On October 12, 2025, deputies responded to a report of a theft from a vehicle in a church parking lot located in the 13000 block of Greensboro Rd. The preliminary investigation revealed that an individual had entered a locked minivan and stolen a 9mm handgun from the center console. Through their investigation, authorities identified a 14-year-old male as the suspect. Deputies located the juvenile at his residence with his mother. After questioning, the juvenile admitted to entering the van and taking the handgun. The firearm was recovered from a property adjacent to the juvenile's residence and seized as evidence. The juvenile was transported to the Caroline County Sheriff's Office, where he was processed and charged on a Maryland Department of Juvenile Services (DJS) referral.
