Accidental Fire Displaces 24 People in Centreville, Maryland
CENTREVILLE, MD - An early Monday morning fire resulted in significant damage to a double-wide trailer in Queen Anne's County, Maryland, displacing 24 people.
At approximately 6:30 a.m. on December 8, 2025, the Sudlersville Volunteer Fire Company, along with several other fire departments, were dispatched to a structure fire in the 300 block of Roe Ingleside Road in Centreville, Maryland. Upon arrival, firefighters found a single-family dwelling engulfed in flames.
According to the occupant, he woke to the smell of smoke and alerted the other residents, allowing everyone to exit the home safely. No injuries were reported.
It took 25 firefighters from a two-alarm response approximately 40 minutes to bring the fire under control.
The investigation determined the fire was accidental, originating from an electrical failure inside a wall in the master bedroom. The home was not equipped with smoke alarms.
A neighboring trailer also sustained fire damage.
The American Red Cross is providing assistance to both affected families.
