Salisbury, MD - The Wicomico Recreation & Parks' Adult and Youth Chess Tournaments are rolling back into town, providing a platform for all chess enthusiasts to showcase their skills. Set to take place on March 1 and 2 at the Wicomico Civic Center, participants have the opportunity to compete for the title of this year's chess champion.

Kick-starting the event, the youth tournament invites children aged 5 to 18. The competition will commence at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, March 1. For a small fee of $7 (or $12 on the day), young players are guaranteed to participate in four matches.

The adult tournament opens at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, welcoming participants aged 18 and above. With a registration fee of $20 if paid in advance (or $25 at the venue), adult players will be guaranteed three matches. Notably, rated youth players are also welcome to join this league.

The top three contenders will receive awards in each division, recognizing their exemplary accomplishments.  

The tournaments will take place at the Midway and Da Nang Rooms within the Civic Center.
